Permanent Makeup (PMU) can be life-changing, especially for those seeking more definition, symmetry, or convenience in their beauty routine. At Ink N Beauty, we specialize in offering precision-driven services like microblading, ombré brows, and more. If you're new to PMU, it’s totally normal to feel a bit unsure about what to expect. This blog walks you through the entire process—so you can walk in confident and leave feeling empowered.
Step 1: The Consultation
Your journey begins with a personalized consultation. This is your time to share your aesthetic goals, ask questions, and work with our artist to choose the right technique and shape. Whether you’re leaning toward bold brows or a subtle enhancement, this collaborative step ensures we create a look that aligns with your vision and facial structure.
Step 2: Design and Mapping
Once we’ve aligned on your goals, our artist will begin facial mapping. This involves measuring and outlining the ideal brow shape, lip contour, or lash enhancement placement. The goal is symmetry and natural balance. You’ll have a chance to approve the shape before we move forward—no surprises here.
Step 3: Numbing and Prepping
A topical numbing agent is applied to minimize discomfort during the procedure. We allow time for it to take effect, ensuring you're as comfortable as possible throughout your appointment. Once numb, the area is sanitized and prepped for pigment application.
Step 4: Pigment Application
Using sterile tools and high-quality pigments, your artist will begin carefully applying the chosen color. For microblading, this means feather-like strokes that mimic hair; for ombré brows or lips, a machine may be used to create a soft gradient effect. The process typically takes 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the service.
Step 5: Aftercare Instructions
Before you leave, we’ll go over detailed aftercare instructions. Proper healing is crucial for long-lasting results. Expect mild redness or sensitivity for the first few days, and some fading and peeling during the healing phase. Avoid water, makeup, and sun exposure on the treated area until fully healed.
Step 6: The Touch-Up
A follow-up session is usually scheduled 6–8 weeks later to fine-tune your results. This is where any unevenness is corrected and the pigment is reinforced to ensure your PMU lasts beautifully for months (or even years) to come.

At Ink N Beauty, our priority is making you feel at ease while delivering results that feel true to you. Whether it’s your first PMU session or you’re coming in for a refresh, our expert artists are here to ensure you’re comfortable, informed, and glowing when you walk out.
